Bergen County Criminal Defense Attorney

“You have found a criminal defense and DWI attorney in NJ that will challenge every element of the case against you, and fight to have the charges dismissed.”

At this stage of your case, contacting an attorney is a very good move. Even in the first weeks after your arrest, there are motions that need to be filed which can help your outcome. Every stage has action required in order to get the best result in your case, even if that’s something as simple as moving your case from a one level of court to another.

After the initial phase, our strategy needs to be challenging each element of the “discovery” in your arrest.

The discovery is basically the entire file of evidence against you, and it includes paperwork filed by the arresting officer, circumstances surrounding your arrest, the probable cause, and a huge array of other details. Challenging any of the elements within your discovery could potentially lead to your case being dismissed before any type of trial.

If the case continues, can take it to trial if necessary. With a current New Jersey prosecutor on staff, we are always prepared for a trial.

This is the type of high level defense that we offer, at each stage of your case. We are not the type of attorneys that take the path of least resistance, we do the work it takes to fight for a victory.

As a team of criminal defense attorneys:

  • We understand how to analyze cases from both sides of the law. Knowing how the prosecution operates allows us to diffuse their cases.
  • We are familiar with the best ways to challenge the case against you, and we have advanced defense strategies for any criminal charge that you likely face. We know the methods that work consistently, and how to implement them in the courtroom.
  • We can have relationships with the prosecutors that you are facing. If they know the reputation of your firm, they are far more likely to negotiate a plea.
  • For DWI cases, I have a series of cutting edge tactics that I use , like “Challenging the Field Sobriety Tests” or “Challenging the 20 Minute Observation Period“. I’ve use these strategies in thousands of DWI cases that I’ve handled as a NJ DWI lawyer. Also, I am one of few NJ DWI Attorneys that is certified to operate and therefore challenge the breath testing device that the police use in DWI charges. There are very few attorneys that can say the same thing. This allows me to “Fight The Alcotest Reading“.
  • We’ve handled thousands of criminal cases, including murder, guns, drugs and NJ DWI charges.
  • We enjoy fighting cases in court and we passionate about winning.
  • We are here for you any time you want to talk about your case, give us a call anytime.

Having worked in multiple large firms and in the US Attorney’s office, I’ve realized that a lot of the other lawyers have stopped doing the best work for their clients. There are high level attorneys that don’t want to put real time into a case.

It seemed as though everyone wanted to step into a meeting room with the prosecutor, and take the fast settlement. That simply doesn’t get the best result for a client.

You as a client deserve to know that your money is being well spent on your defense.

We will research the little details in your paperwork. We will put every detail regarding the circumstance in which you were arrested into question. What procedures did the officer follow? Did he follow them correctly? Did he document everything correctly Can all of the evidence and even its transfer be accounted for? Is your trial being held “expediently”? Each case has a different series of questions that can be asked and need to be answered.

The best criminal attorneys and the best DWI attorneys in New Jersey know how to attack your case, and they should be able to explain how they plan to do when you talk to them.

“Relationships are important in the New Jersey court system.”

It’s hard to believe, but stuff like this actually matters. The best case outcomes aren’t necessarily gained by fighting.

Whether its a personal relationship with a prosecutor, or simply the reputation for being an aggressive criminal defense attorney, relationships are important. Prosecutors offer deals when they think that they might walk into court and lose.

We are proud to be a well respected law firm in the state of New Jersey.

“We know exactly how the State will approach case against you.”

It’s an unbelievably strong advantage to have a prosecutor on your team.

Alyssa Hascup is a current active prosecutor in New Jersey, and she gives us a unique perspective whenever it’s time to take a case to court. We can fight hypothetical cases behind closed doors, and be ready for whatever the other side tries come the day of trial.

“We offer payment plans for your criminal defense.”

We know that money can be an issue for some of my potential clients, and other law firms charge some crazy prices. At the Tormey Law Firm, we are happy to work with you on payment plans and getting you the representation you need at a fair price.

If you think that my law firm can help you, please don’t hesitate to call me any time, day or night. I understand what you’re going through, and I’m here to help. I offer free consultations and you can call me anytime.
