Teaneck Woman Accused of Embezzling Funds from Harrington Park Business
A Teaneck NJ woman was recently arrested on charges that she embezzled $160K from the Harrington Park business she worked for.
The suspect, a 32-year-old resident of Teaneck New Jersey, was employed as an accountant and controller for a company in Harrington Park, NJ. According to authorities, the suspect used the company’s computers to divert cash from the payroll to her own personal bank account.
The suspect allegedly committed the theft crimes from September 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017.
After company officials discovered the alleged embezzlement, they notified law enforcement. Detectives with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Harrington Park Police Department investigated the allegations and ultimately decided to arrest the suspect. She was apprehended in Paramus, New Jersey.
The suspect has been charged with two crimes: computer-related theft and theft by deception.
In addition to being criminally charged, the suspect was also fired by her employers.
After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was released on her own recognizance.
