Wyckoff NJ Police Arrest Paterson NJ Men for Allegedly Stealing Hundreds of Storage Bins in Bergen County
Two (2) Paterson NJ men were arrested by Wyckoff police after storage bins stolen from Wyckoff pharmacies spilled out from the men’s Ryder rental truck.
According to authorities, 43-year-old Toyse Ali and 46-year-old Jose M. Vazquez were departing from the Boulder Run Shopping Center in Wyckoff when an officer saw the storage bins fall from the back of their rental truck. When the officer inspected the truck he found approximately 300 storage bins marked with the logos of Rite-Aid, CVS, and Walgreen’s.
In recent months, Mr. Ali and Mr. Vazquez had been arrested for similar thefts of storage bins in Bogota NJ and Westwood NJ.
Police believe that Mr. Ali and Mr. Vazquez stole the bins from pharmacies and sold them at recycling centers.
After being arrested in Wyckoff, Mr. Ali and Mr. Vazquez were charged with theft of movable property and possession of stolen property.
Theft of movable property in New Jersey is governed by N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3. As set forth by the statute, theft of movable property valued at more than $500.00 is a second degree offense. Depending on the value of the storage bins, Mr. Ali and Mr. Vazquez could each be sentenced to as many as ten (10) years in state prison.
Both Mr. Vazquez and Mr. Ali were being held at the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
