Criminals Impersonating Attorneys Trying to Extort Money – Elder Abuse

Paul Ryan – Fake Attorney – Not Employed at Tormey Law Firm LLC

It has come to our attention that criminals are impersonating attorneys in New Jersey and trying to shake down and extort money from older people. This has happened to our firm and other firms. If you receive an email from an individual claiming to be Paul Ryan, an attorney at the Tormey Law Firm, this is fake. Paul Ryan is not a real name and is not an attorney at our office. The email from this fake attorney uses our logo, lists our company website and main office address but uses a fake email and a fake phone number that is not related to our firm. Thus, if you receive any communications from a purported attorney, we highly recommend you verify this information by calling the law firm (look up the phone number on google to confirm you have the correct place) and looking up the attorney’s name to confirm they actually have a license and are a practicing attorney in the State of NJ.

Otherwise, you could be dealing with a criminal who is not related to our firm and who is attempting to extort money from you. We do not handle collection cases or civil lawsuit type matters.
