Paramus NJ Police Investigate Car Accident That Killed Bicyclist
A bicyclist who was hit by a car in Paramus New Jersey died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
According to law enforcement, the accident occurred while the 23-year-old victim was riding his bike on Midland Avenue at Cardinal Place in Paramus, NJ.
The victim was riding alongside a relative at the time. Both of them were struck by the car.
The cyclists were riding their bikes in the eastbound lane of Midland Avenue when a Jeep allegedly hit both of them.
The bicyclists were traveling to work in the early morning hours. They work at separate gas stations in Paramus NJ.
After the accident, the 38-year-old driver of the Jeep called for help and remained at the scene.
Tragically, the 23-year-old victim died due to a severe head injury caused by the crash.
The other victim was rushed to Hackensack Medical Center, where he received medical treatment for his own injuries.
Paramus detectives and investigators with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office worked the scene and tried to determine whether the driver of the Jeep was at fault in the accident.
At this time, the driver has not been charged with any crimes or cited for any traffic violations.
