Hackensack NJ Man Accused of Selling Cocaine, Marijuana Out of Apartment
Accused of Selling Drugs in Hackensack, NJ
When you or a loved one has been accused of drug crime, the stakes are much higher for drug distribution when compared with a typical charge for drug possession. In New Jersey, when possession becomes elevated to alleged selling or possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to sell, the potential consequences increase significantly. For example, if you have been arrested in Hackensack for marijuana, the amount of marijuana involved becomes critical to the entire process that follows. Being arrested for a gram of weed is a disorderly persons offense handled in the local municipal court, but if you are found with 5 pounds of more in weight of marijuana, you will be charged with a second degree crime for marijuana distribution and exposed to up to 10 years in prison. Finding a lawyer who knows exactly what happens next in your case, from where the case will be handled, each step involved in investigating and building a top-notch defense, and how to secure the best results is critical right now.
