Ridgefield Park NJ Man Accused of Burglarizing Local Construction Yard
Ridgefield Park police arrested a local man who allegedly committed a burglary at a construction yard.
According to authorities, the suspect gained access to a closed, fenced-in construction yard located on Industrial Avenue in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.
Workers at the construction site contacted law enforcement and said that they saw a suspicious person walking around the area.
When Ridgefield Park police officers got to the scene, they saw the suspect fleeing the yard and heading in the direction of the Hackensack River. Police set up a perimeter and eventually located the suspect. According to law enforcement, the suspect was found hiding underneath a construction trailer.
The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with multiple crimes, including burglary, possession of burglary tools, trespassing, and resisting arrest. The suspect was also charged with possession of a hypodermic needle because police allegedly found him with the drug paraphernalia at the time of his arrest.
Additionally, the 43-year-old suspect, who lives in Ridgefield Park NJ, allegedly had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail in lieu of a $20K bail amount.
