Mahwah NJ Teen Accused of Offering Services as Hitman
A Mahwah NJ teenager who is reportedly the son of a NY police officer has been accused of agreeing to perform a contract killing.
The 18-year-old suspect lives in Mahwah New Jersey and is said to be the child of a New York State trooper who works in Schenectady County, NY. The teen suspect allegedly agreed to commit a homicide in exchange for money and a handgun.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect drove his motor vehicle from his residence to Mason Jar, a bar-restaurant located in Mahwah, NJ. The suspect allegedly intended to meet a man who had requested a hit man over the Internet.
However, the other man actually turned out to be an undercover police officer who had nabbed the suspect in an online sting operation. Cops accessed the dark web and allegedly found the suspect offering his services as a contract killer.
The suspect now faces serious charges for conspiracy to commit murder that could send him to prison for a very long time if he is ultimately convicted.
After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. He was being held at the correctional facility in lieu of a massive $1 million bail amount.
