Elmwood Park NJ Police Arrest Two Suspects Accused of Armed Robbery at Apartment
Police in Elmwood Park NJ recently arrested two men accused of committing an armed robbery at a local residence.
The robbery reportedly occurred during the early morning hours. According to law enforcement, three suspects broke into an apartment located on Donor Avenue in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
Once the suspects were inside the apartment, they allegedly threatened the occupants.
The suspects allegedly held the five victims at gunpoint and forced them to get on the floor. This scary incident reportedly lasted for around 40 minutes. During that time period, the suspects allegedly raided the apartment and stole a number of personal belongings, including flat screen televisions, iPads, iPhones, and purses.
Thankfully, none of the apartment occupants were injured during the theft incident.
After the suspects got what they came for and left the residence, the victims dialed 911 and notified the Elmwood Park Police Department.
Elmwood Park NJ police officers quickly arrived at the apartment and noticed two of the suspects sitting in a car and preparing to drive off. Police placed the two suspects under arrest.
When Elmwood Park officers searched the suspects’ motor vehicle, they allegedly discovered the stolen possessions.
Later that day, police searched the area outside the apartment building and came across a rifle that had been hidden in the bushes.
The two suspects who were arrested are a 20-year-old Paterson NJ man and a 32-year-old Paterson man. They have been charged with multiple crimes, including robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and conspiracy.
Elmwood Park police officers are still trying to locate the third suspect. He has been described as a black male who stands 5-feet-6-inches tall. At the time of the robbery, the third suspect was reportedly wearing all-black clothing.
