Police Search for Suspects Accused of Auto Theft in River Vale, NJ
According to law enforcement officials, an auto theft ring is targeting expensive motor vehicles in the area. A local resident recently reported that her car, a 2016 Mercedes Benz S550, was stolen from her driveway at a residence in the Fardale area of River Vale.
River Vale detectives worked together with Mahwah detectives to investigate the auto theft.
Authorities determined that the River Vale theft was committed by the same group responsible for numerous thefts of high-end luxury cars in the past few months.
The River Vale Police Department recently issued a warning to local residents and advised drivers to be careful when parking cars on township streets. The statement noted that luxury auto thefts in Bergen County are “an ongoing problem.” In many causes, the culprits steal the expensive motor vehicles and then ship them overseas to be resold on the black market.
Anyone parking a car outside in River Vale NJ should make sure to bring their keys and/or key fobs with them after leaving the vehicle. Officials hope that the luxury car theft ring will steer clear of Bergen County NJ if residents make an effort to guard against thefts.
