Police Arrest Bergen County NJ Man Accused of Stealing Baby Formula from CVS
Shoplifting Charges in Rutherford NJ
Police captured a Bergen County NJ man suspected of stealing baby formula from a CVS located in New York.
The theft incident occurred at a CVS located in Montebello, New York. The suspect was among three people who allegedly conspired to commit the theft and steal baby formula.
Sometime after the theft crime, local police officers happened to spot a motor vehicle driving erratically and cutting off two other vehicles on the roadway. Cops stopped the car and spoke to the driver. That’s when police allegedly spotted a CVS shopping cart and seven canisters of baby formula inside the motor vehicle.
Police subsequently arrested the vehicle driver and passenger. They were both charged with possession of stolen property.
The two suspects who were arrested are from Rutherford and West Milford, New Jersey.
A third suspect in the CVS theft was reported missing. Authorities have been searching for the suspect were eventually able to locate him in Suffern, NY. A police officer’s license plate reader picked up the suspect’s vehicle as it passed by on Lafayette Avenue in Suffern, New York. The cop ran a check on the car and found out that it was registered to the suspect. The suspect was then arrested and charged in connection with the CVS theft.
Any theft in an amount less than $200 is a disorderly persons (misdemeanor) level offense in New Jersey.
