Two Arrested for Cocaine Possession in Hackensack
Bergen County law enforcement recently arrested two NY men accused of possessing cocaine while driving through Hackensack, New Jersey.
According to officials, Hackensack police officers conducted a traffic stop and pulled over the suspects’ vehicle. The Hackensack NJ cops reportedly saw an automatic weapon in plain sight and immediately notified the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and the Bergen County Prosecutors’ Office.
Once authorities had a search warrant for the motor vehicle, they conducted a search and reportedly discovered a firearm and four kilograms of cocaine. The seized cocaine reportedly has an estimated street value of $200,000. Both men were placed under arrest. One of the suspects is a 31-year-old man from Springfield Gardens NY, while the other suspect is a 32-year-old man from Brooklyn NY.
The suspects face numerous criminal charges, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine and illegal possession of a firearm. Additionally, the suspects could be subject to enhanced penalties because they allegedly possessed the weapon while committing a drug crime.
After being arrested and processed, the suspects were taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. They were each being held at the jail on separate $150K bail amounts.
