New Milford NJ Man Accused of Trying to Distribute Child Pornography
A New Milford NJ man faces child pornography charges after he allegedly tried to acquire and distribute illicit videos and images.
30-year-old Jackson T. Dietrich is accused of obtaining and sending child pornography.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli, the prosecutor’s office’s computer crimes division investigated Dietrich. The investigation allegedly revealed that Dietrich was attempted to get his hands on hundreds of images and videos featuring children engaged in sexual acts.
Authorities also believe that Dietrich was attempting to send the images and videos.
Police said that Dietrich was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
Dietrich has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, charges that stem from his alleged possession and distribution of child pornography.
In New Jersey, endangering the welfare of a child is governed under N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4. The statute classifies the offense as a third degree felony. If Dietrich is convicted of third degree endangering the welfare of a child, he could be sentenced to as many as five (5) years in NJ State Prison.
After Dietrich was charged, he was taken to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
