Lodi NJ Man Accused of Armed Robbery in Paterson, New Jersey
Paterson New Jersey police recently arrested two men who are accused of committing an armed robbery on a city street.
The theft incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. According to authorities, the suspects held up three men in the area of 4th Avenue and East 17th Street in Paterson, NJ.
The main suspect ordered the victims to get down on the pavement. He then allegedly stole their cell phones.
Two of the robbery victims are from Paterson NJ, while the third victim lives in Hawthorne, NJ.
After the robbery, one of the victims ran down the street and flagged down a Paterson police officer.
The police officer went to the scene of the robbery and saw the two suspects fleeing. The officer then broadcast descriptions of the suspects to other police officers.
A short time later, a couple of Paterson police officers saw the suspects running into backyards of homes located on East 16th Street. One of the suspects was quickly apprehended; the other suspect managed to get away.
Law enforcement allegedly found the main suspect in possession of a semi-automatic Glock .35 handgun. Additionally, police allegedly discovered glassine packets of heroin in the suspect’s car, which was parked nearby.
The main suspect in the robbery is a 38-year-old man from Lodi, NJ. He has been charged with multiple crimes, including three counts of robbery, as well as weapons offenses for unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The other suspect, who remains at large, is believed to have been an accomplice in the theft.
