Mahwah New Jersey police recently arrested a Paterson NJ man who allegedly shared explicit photos with a 12-year-old girl.

According to authorities, the suspect showed the victim multiple pictures of his genitalia while they were alone on a school bus.

The suspect works as a school bus driver for FSZ Transportation in the Wantage school district. As part of his job, he reportedly transported the girl from her home to a private school in Mahwah.

The suspect allegedly befriended the girl on Facebook. Police believe that the victim also showed the suspect nude pictures of herself.

Officials learned about the alleged illegal sexual conduct after the victim revealed her relationship during a therapy session. The girl reportedly told her therapist that she was engaged in a “loving” relationship with the suspect.

The revelations came after the girl’s mother had already expressed concern to the therapist about the suspect.

Mahwah police questioned the suspect. According to prosecutors, the suspect admitted to police investigators that he and the girl shared explicit photos.

The victim’s mother reportedly gave police authorization to search the girl’s cell phone, which allegedly turned up the sexually explicit photos.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit is currently examining the cell phones.

In the meantime, the suspect has been placed under arrest and charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Although child endangerment is usually classified as a third degree felony, the charge has been upgraded to a second degree criminal offense because the suspect was in a position of authority over the girl. This means that the suspect could potentially be subject to a sentence of 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

The suspect is currently being held at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack NJ on a $100,000 bail amount.
