Three Newark Men Accused of Burglary, Sexual Assault of Woman in Fair Lawn, New Jersey
Law enforcement recently arrested three men who allegedly broke into a house in Fair Lawn NJ and sexually assaulted a woman inside the home.
The violent incident occurred around 3:10 a.m. at a residence located in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. According to Bergen County prosecutors, the suspects forced their way into the house and sexually assaulted the victim.
The Fair Lawn Police Department dispatched police officers to the area after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor who spotted a strange man in the neighborhood. When Fair Lawn NJ cops arrived at the residence, they found the three suspects inside.
Police detained the suspects and took them to the local police headquarters while detectives conducted an investigation. Fair Lawn police then notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, with that specialized law enforcement agency subsequently joining in the investigation.
All three suspects were later arrested and charged with numerous criminal offenses.
Two of the suspects include a 19-year-old man from Newark and a 21-year-old man from Newark. They have both been charged with aggravated sexual assault because they allegedly committed the sex crimes against the victim. They have also been charged with burglary, as well as aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and terroristic threats in connection with the break-in and attack.
The third suspect is a 19-year-old Newark NJ man. He has only been charged with burglary because police do not believe he had anything to do with the sexual assault.
