Saddle Brook NJ Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting 9-Year-Old Girl
A Saddle Brook NJ man has been accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl.
Police began an investigation after the victim came forward.
According to Bergen County prosecutors, the girl spoke with a coordinator from the New Jersey Child Abuse Prevention Program and described the alleged illegal sexual acts. The coordinator was speaking at the girl’s school.
After hearing the victim’s story, the coordinator contacted the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency. The agency then notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, which immediately began an investigation.
Detectives with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit interviewed the girl. During the interview, she reportedly provided specific details about the alleged sexual encounters with the 38-year-old suspect.
A short time later, the suspect was placed under arrest. He has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was transported to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. He is being held at the facility in lieu of $300,000 bail, with no 10-percent cash option.
If the suspect does eventually post bail and secure his release, he will not be allowed to have any contact with the victim.
