Registered Sex Offender from Newark NJ Accused of Using Social Media, Violating Terms of His Release from Prison
A registered sex offender from Newark NJ was arrested after Bergen County NJ authorities discovered that he had allegedly been using social media websites.
46-year-old Thaddeus Gill was banned from social media websites as a condition of his release from prison. The terms of Mr. Gill’s release included a requirement that he be supervised for life.
Judicial records indicate that Mr. Gill was convicted in 2002 for having criminal sexual contact with a 10-year-old girl in Passaic County.
After being arrested for violating the terms of his release, Mr. Gill was taken to the Bergen County Jail and held in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.
Bergen County prosecutors are asking anyone who has been contacted online by Mr. Gill to call the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit at (201) 646-2300. Mr. Gill allegedly used the screen names “TGil,” “Tgil3036,” and “Thad Gil” on the Internet.
