Registered Sex Offender Accused of Sexual Assault in Teaneck, New Jersey
A registered sex offender was recently arrested on new sex abuse charges in Teaneck, New Jersey.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the 41-year-old defendant is accused of sexually assaulting another victim. The suspect has reportedly been a registered sex offender since 2009.
The latest alleged victim, a 9-year-old boy, came forward to investigators with the sex abuse allegations. The boy first told his parents about the alleged abuse. The parents then notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. A short time later, investigators from the Special Victims Unit interviewed the boy.
Sometime after the interview, she suspect was charged with sexual assault and child endangerment.
At the time that the sex crime charges were filed, the suspect was already in custody at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey.
The suspect had been arrested earlier this month on charges of sexually abusing a number of other young boys and girls. According to law enforcement, the other victims were all between the ages of 3 and 5. It is believed that all of the victims were acquaintances of the suspect.
As a result of the alleged abuse, the suspect was previously charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child in connection.
The suspect is currently being held at the Bergen County Jail in lieu of a massive $900,000 bail amount.
