Police Investigate Suspicious Incident Involving Man Following Minors in Ridgefield Park, NJ
Ridgefield Park police are investigating what has been called a “suspicious incident” involving an unidentified man who followed two minors.
According to law enforcement, the two juveniles were walking home from school when they were approached by a man in a vehicle. The man got out of his car as the minors were walking south on Hudson Avenue in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.
The children later told police officers that the suspect followed them on foot, walking in the same direction they were walking. After following the kids for two blocks, the suspect stopped and watched the children enter a private house.
At some point, the man reportedly got back into his vehicle, a four-door sedan, and drove away.
Although the man did not make and physical contact with the children or any verbal gestures toward them, it was still a disturbing incident that prompted the kids to contact authorities.
The man has been described as a Hispanic male in his early 30s. He reportedly stands 5-feet tall and has a stocky build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hat with orange or red stripes, sunglasses, blue jeans, and a black shirt.
Ridgefield Park NJ police are investigating the suspicious incident. Ridgefield Park detectives said that they only want to speak with the man at this time. There are no criminal charges for luring or any other sexual offense pending.
