Lodi NJ Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident, No Criminal Charges at This Time
Police are investigating a fatal accident in Lodi New Jersey that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to authorities, the 25-year-old victim was riding his Honda CBR motorcycle on Memorial Drive when a Toyota Corolla crashed into him. Witnesses said that the driver of the car was traveling southbound on Memorial Drive and attempting to turn east onto Washington Street when he hit the bike.
The victim, who resided in Lodi NJ, was immediately transported to Hackensack University Medical Center so that he could be treated for his injuries. Tragically, doctors were unable to save him; he was pronounced dead a few hours after the collision.
Police later said that the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Lodi NJ police are actively investigating the accident. At this time, investigators have not revealed any information about the driver of the Toyota. Additionally, police have not yet said whether the suspect was speeding, ran a red light at the intersection, or committed any other traffic violation.
If it is ultimately determined that criminal charges for vehicular homicide or manslaughter should be filed in the case, the driver could face significant penalties.
