Judge Kim sworn in for third one-year term at the Central Municipal Court of Bergen County
Municipal Court Judge Jae Y. Kim was sworn in earlier this week for a third one-year term as a Municipal Court Judge sitting at the Central Municipal Court of Bergen County located in Hackensack, New Jersey. Judge Kim is one of three (3) municipal judges who sit at the Central Municipal Court located at 71 Hudson street. According to the Bergen Record article, Judge Kim hears 6,000 motor vehicle violations a month which generates about $6 million in revenue a year for the county.
The court recently moved to a new building on Hudson street after being previously located inside the Superior Courthouse at 10 Main Street in Hackensack. The county purchased the new building last year for $1.24 million. The Central Municipal Court of Bergen County is the only court of its kind in the state: it handles summonses handled by county agencies including the Bergen County police and the county Division of Consumer Affairs.
I have appeared before Judge Kim many times and it is nice to see that he will continue as one of the judges in the Central Municipal Court.
