Hawthorne NJ Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Teenage Boy
Police in Hawthorne NJ recently arrested a local man and charged him with criminal sexual contact for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy.
The suspect, a 33-year-old man who lives on Forest Avenue in Hawthorne, has been accused of inappropriately touching the victim at least one occasion. According to Bergen County prosecutors, the suspect committed the sex crime on February 6, 2017 at a residence in Mahwah, New Jersey.
Law enforcement officials have not yet indicated how the suspect, a maintenance worker, came into contact with the young victim.
After authorities learned of the sexual offense allegations, the Mahwah Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit opened an investigation.
Detectives later spoke with the suspect in Paramus NJ and determined that enough evidence existed to place him under arrest.
The suspect now faces multiple criminal charges, including criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey.
