Fort Lee Man Accused of Causing Pedestrian Accident in Palisades Park, NJ
Police in Palisades Park NJ arrested a Fort Lee man who allegedly hit a pedestrian and then left the scene of the accident.
The auto accident occurred a short time after 7:30 p.m. The Newark Police Department dispatched officers to the intersection of East Brinkerhoff Avenue and 6th Street after receiving a call about an injured pedestrian.
When Newark NJ cops arrived at the scene of the crash, they found the female victim. According to police, the victim was suffering from undisclosed injuries. She was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center, where doctors treated her and stabilized her condition.
Detectives with the Palisades Park Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office investigated the accident and found broken pieces from a black 2016 Kia Optima.
Police later identified the alleged driver of the car as a 28-year-old man from Fort Lee, New Jersey. He was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury.
The suspect was also cited for multiple traffic violations.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was released from police custody with a pending court date.
