Police arrested five people on drug charges in Bergen County NJ after a lengthy investigation.
The investigation included the Upper Saddle River Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force. According to prosecutors, the investigation lasted three months.
Among the five people arrested were a father and son. The 19-year-old son allegedly sold marijuana, LSD, and narcotic mushrooms out of his home located on Pleasant Avenue in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.
The 52-year-old father was arrested after police executed a search warrant at the residence and reportedly found drugs in the father’s personal bathroom. The drugs allegedly included LSD, mushrooms, and marijuana with a street value of approximately $2,000. Additionally, police said that they found scales and other drug paraphernalia in the bathroom.
The son has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute LSD, and possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms.
Meanwhile, the father was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The father was not present when the search was conducted; however, he later turned himself in to Upper Saddle River police.
After being arrested and charged, the son was transported to the Bergen County Jail. He is being held at the facility in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Sometime after the father turned himself in, he was released from police custody with a pending court date.
Police also arrested a few other people as a result of the investigation. While authorities were conducting surveillance of the suspects’ home, they allegedly saw two Allendale NJ residents drive away in a vehicle after buying drugs.
When police officers stopped the car, they reportedly discovered marijuana. Police also said that the two suspects were under the influence of marijuana at the time.
Both suspects were charged with possession of marijuana.
Additionally, police arrested a juvenile suspect from New York. Police believe that the juvenile is a major supplier of drugs. He was allegedly found in possession of two pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of roughly $6,000.
After being arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, the minor was released to the custody of a parent.
