Englewood NJ Police Arrest Man Accused of Rape, Sexual Assault
Police in Englewood New Jersey arrested a homeless man who allegedly committed a sexual assault.
Local law enforcement received an emergency call shortly after 3:00 a.m. The caller identified herself as the victim of an assault.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they saw that the victim had sustained an “obvious injury.”
The victim was rushed to Englewood Hospital, where she received treatment for her injuries.
Once the victim got to the hospital and spoke with doctors, she said that she had been sexually assaulted. At that point, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified and dispatched detectives to the hospital.
The victim spoke with detectives and identified the 27-year-old suspect as the man who attacked her. Investigators believe that the suspect and the victim knew each other.
The suspect has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, as well as aggravated assault.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was transported to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $101,000 bail.
