A Cliffside Park NJ man was recently sentenced to serve 8 years in federal prison for transporting a teenager across state lines for the purpose of having sex with her.

According to authorities, the suspect first met the 14-year-old victim through an online dating site called “Are You Interested.”

The suspect communicated online with the victim for two days.

The victim lived in Allentown, PA, so the suspect arranged to meet the victim in Pennsylvania. He allegedly picked her up in Pennsylvania and then drove her across state lines and into New Jersey.

Once they were in New Jersey, the suspect allegedly had sex with the victim in his car.

A local Pennsylvania police department and the FBI later investigated the case. Authorities eventually uncovered enough evidence to place the suspect under arrest.

The 28-year-old suspect pleaded guilty earlier this year to the very serious sex crime of traveling with the purpose of having illicit sex with a minor.

Now the suspect has been officially sentenced to serve 8 years in federal prison. Additionally, the suspect was ordered to serve 10 years of probation after his release from prison.

Police seized the BMW that the suspect used to transport the girl. Part of the suspect’s sentence requires him to forfeit the vehicle.
