Bergenfield NJ Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault, Charged with Criminal Sexual Contact
Police arrested a doctor accused of committing sexual assaults against former employees and at least one patient at a Bergenfield NJ medical practice.
Bergen County prosecutors first learned of the allegations when an employee of the business came forward and claimed that the suspect touched her breast and bit her facial cheek while she worked with him.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Bergenfield Police Department then conducted a joint investigation into the suspect.
During the investigation, law enforcement learned that three more individuals claimed to be victims of the suspect. The victims include current employees, former employees, and one patient of the medical practice.
The suspect, who specializes in general practice and internal medicine, was placed under arrest.
The suspect faces charges for criminal sexual contact as a result of the allegations. Additionally, the suspect has been charged with simple assault and harassment.
After being arrested and processed, the suspect was taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
If the suspect posts bail, he will not be allowed to have any contact with the victims. Additionally, he will have to surrender his passport to authorities.
