Fort Lee NJ Acupuncturist Accused of Sexually Molesting Client
An Englewood Cliffs NJ man has been accused of sexually assaulting a person at his acupuncture office in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
The suspect is a 70-year-old resident of Englewood Cliffs who operates an unlicensed acupuncture practice in Fort Lee, NJ. The suspect’s practice, Fort Lee Acupuncture and Physical Therapy, is located on Whiteman Road in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
According to law enforcement, the suspect molested a client at his office. Fort Lee NJ police became aware of the allegations against the suspect when the victim came forward and said that the suspect “inappropriately touched her.”
The sexual offense allegedly occurred while the victim was undergoing an acupuncture treatment at the Fort Lee business.
After learning about the sex crime allegations, the Fort Lee Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit opened an investigation into the suspect.
The suspect has been charged with criminal sexual contact, a very serious sex crime that carries severe criminal penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3, a person who commits an act of sexual contact with a victim while using physical force or coercion can be charged with a fourth degree felony. A conviction on fourth degree criminal sexual contact charges could result in a sentence of 3-5 years in NJ State Prison.
While the criminal charges against the suspect are pending, he has been ordered held at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ. His bail amount was initially set at $10,000.
