Atlantic City Lifeguard Accused of Sexually Assaulting 15-Year-Old Northvale NJ Girl
An Atlantic City lifeguard has been charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Northvale girl.
Northvale NJ police arrested 21-year-old David Mariche-Banos after information came to light that he had allegedly engaged in sexual activity with the underage girl.
Mr. Mariche-Banos allegedly met the girl in an online chat room. According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Mariche-Banos spoke with the girl in the chat room and then arranged to meet her in Northvale.
Authorities believe that Mr. Mariche-Banos may have misled the girl by lying about his age.
Mr. Mariche-Banos was arrested and charged with sexual assault.
In New Jersey, sexual assault is addressed by N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b. According to the statute, sexual assault may be classified as a second degree felony. If Mr. Mariche-Banos is convicted of second degree sexual assault, he could face a term of imprisonment of up to ten (10) years in New Jersey State Prison.
Mr. Mariche-Banos was being held at the Bergen County Jail on $75,000.00 bail.
